Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Polaris website, waitlist, and mobile app (together, the “Service”), provided by Polaris (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and your own.

Polaris is a professional networking and career platform. Parts of the Service may be offered on a pre-launch, waitlist, or beta basis and may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time. We do not guarantee that any feature, job, referral, or outcome will be available or produce a particular result.

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk for the Service or other users.

You agree not to:

• Post content that is unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, harassing, or that infringes the rights of others.
• Misrepresent your identity, employment, qualifications, or your relationship to any person, company, or job.
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data about other users, or attempt to access the Service in an unauthorized way.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its security.

You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile details, posts, messages, recommendations, and similar). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the rights to share it.

Where the Service offers paid features — including referral bounties, featured job placements, or in-app gifts — payments are processed by our third-party payment provider (Stripe). By making or receiving a payment, you also agree to the payment provider's terms. Bounties and payouts are subject to eligibility rules, fees, holding periods, verification, and confirmation of a qualifying event (such as a confirmed hire) as described in the Service. We do not guarantee any earnings, referral, hire, or payout.

The Service, including its software, design, logos, and content we provide, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted to you, we reserve all rights in the Service.

The Service may link to or rely on third-party services (such as payment processing, maps, and job sources). We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Polaris will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes may be communicated through the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
