Overview
This page explains how to request deletion of your Polaris account and the personal data associated with it. Polaris (“we”, “us”) is a professional networking app published by Polaris. You can delete your account at any time — directly inside the app, or by contacting us using the details below.
Delete your account from the app
The fastest way to delete your account is from within the Polaris mobile app:
- Open the Polaris app and sign in to your account.
- Go to the Profile tab, then open Settings.
- Scroll to the account section and tap Delete my account.
- Confirm the request. Your account and associated data will be permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.
Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email us from the address linked to your account and we will process your deletion request:
Include the email address on your account so we can verify your identity. We aim to action verified requests within 30 days.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove or irreversibly anonymize your personal data, including:
- Your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and profile details (headline, summary, and similar fields).
- Your profile photo, cover image, and any uploaded resume files.
- Your sign-in credentials — password and any linked Google or Apple sign-in — and all active sessions and access tokens.
- Your device identifiers and marketing preferences.
What is retained, and for how long
To keep the community usable for others and to meet our legal and security obligations, a limited set of data is retained:
- Anonymized content. Posts, comments, and messages you contributed may remain visible but are disassociated from your identity so they can no longer be traced back to you.
- Transaction and financial records. Records of payments, payouts, and referral bounties are retained where required by tax, accounting, and anti-fraud laws — typically up to 7 years — then deleted.
- Deletion audit record. A minimal internal record confirming the account was deleted is kept to prevent abuse and honor your request.
Retained records are held only as long as necessary for the purpose above and are then permanently deleted. Backups are purged on our regular backup rotation schedule.
